Join Our Team:
Pacific Rail Services is seeking an experienced and motivated Terminal Manager – Prep & Mechanical to lead terminal operations in Louisville, KY. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for overseeing daily operations, mechanical activities, maintenance programs, safety initiatives, customer relations, and workforce management while ensuring operational excellence and profitability.

What You Will Do:
  • Lead and supervise terminal employees and mechanical personnel.
  • Oversee rail yard, terminal, and maintenance operations to ensure efficiency and productivity.
  • Coordinate customer, vendor, and driver activities.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, labor agreements, and government requirements.
  • Foster a strong safety culture through audits, coaching, and employee engagement.
  • Manage equipment and vehicle repair and maintenance activities.
  • Conduct incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, employees, and union representatives.
  • Support hiring, training, employee development, and disciplinary procedures.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to maximize operational performance and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications:
  • Valid Driver's License required.
  • Experience in terminal, rail, transportation, warehouse, logistics, or mechanical operations preferred.
  • Experience supervising employees in a union environment is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of collective bargaining agreements (CBAs) and labor relations is a plus.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to multitask and make sound operational decisions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, email, scheduling, and reporting systems.

  • Combination of office, terminal, rail yard, and outdoor work environments.
  • Frequent interaction with equipment, vehicles, and field personnel.
  • Exposure to varying weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, snow, and wind.
  • Ability to work safely around moving equipment and active operations.
