This opportunity is for the Rutherford location only. Pay and benefits may vary at other sites.
What You’ll Earn:
- Start at $20.50 per hour.
- Overtime pays $30.75 per hour.
- After one year: $22.44 per hour.
- Annual earning potential: $55,000 to $70,000 with overtime.
Your Schedule:
- 8-hour shifts with a mandatory 4-hour holdover when necessary (up to 12 hours total).
- Current shift start times: 10AM or 10 PM.
- Weekends and holidays required.
- The Railroad operates 24/7/365
What You’ll Do:
- Drive jockey trucks to move trailers, containers, and chassis around the railyard.
- Climb railcars, secure tracks, unlock tracks, prep railcars for loading and handle inner box connectors.
- Assist crane operators with hand signals.
- Stack and unstack chassis, load and unload chassis racks.
- Work as part of a team to keep the yard running smoothly.

What You’ll Need:
- Must be 18 or older with a valid driver’s license.
- Pass a 7-year background check.
- Pass drug test and physical capabilities test.
- No diploma or GED required.
- Strong communication skills.
- Must live within 45 minutes of Harrisburg, PA (no relocation).
