JOIN THE PRS AUTO FAMILY IN KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI

RAIL COORDINATOR (NIGHT SHIFT):
PRS Auto is growing, and we are looking for a Rail Coordinator to join our team at the Norfolk Southern rail terminal in Kansas City. This is a key operations role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys coordinating moving parts, leading from the front, and keeping operations running safely and efficiently.

If you’re organized, detail-oriented, and ready to take ownership of critical rail operations, this is a great opportunity to build a long-term career with a company that values teamwork, accountability, and promoting from within.

THE ROLE:
As a Rail Coordinator, you will be the central point of coordination for all rail movement activity within the terminal. You’ll work closely with railroad crews, terminal leadership, and operations teams to ensure trains are safely handled, properly positioned, and ready to meet customer demands.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being hands-on while also managing logistics, communication, and execution.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
  • Track and monitor all inbound trains while maintaining direct communication with railroad crews.
  • Coordinate daily switching operations to ensure railcars are in the right place at the right time.
  • Direct the spotting of empty railcars for loading and loaded railcars for unloading.
  • Coordinate movement of bad order railcars to repair tracks.
  • Work with leadership to ensure the right equipment is available to meet daily production needs.
  • Oversee the proper assembly of outbound trains, ensuring compliance with customer requirements (blocking, tonnage, air tests, etc.)
  • Manage surplus railcars to keep terminal operations fluid and efficient.
  • Support safe, compliant, and high-quality operations at all times.
  • Assist with additional operational duties as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Working knowledge of FRA rules and rail switching operations preferred.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Comfortable using computers and learning site-specific systems.
  • Previous rail, logistics, or operations experience is a plus—but not required for the right candidate.

COMPENSATION & SCHEDULE:
  • $26.00 per hour (Non-Union).
  • Full-time position.
  • Schedule: Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and every other Wednesday.
  • Hours: (NIGHT SHIFT) 5:00 PM - 5:00 AM.

BENEFITS OF JOINING PRS AUTO:
(Same benefits as Ramp Supervisor – most begin after 60 days and the first of the following month):
  • Affordable healthcare plans including dental and vision.
  • Free life insurance.
  • Paid holidays and personal days.
  • Boot reimbursement.
  • 401K and vacation pay.
  • Weekly pay.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
  • You will be employed by PRS Auto, not the railroad.
  • Applicants must live within 45 minutes of the terminal.
  • Relocation assistance is not available.

This is a high-impact role for someone who enjoys coordinating operations, solving problems in real time, and being part of a team that keeps critical logistics moving every day.

If you’re ready for a stable, hands-on career with growth potential, PRS Auto wants to hear from you.
